Vale Of The White Horse Group

The Friends of the Ridgeway Vale Of The White Horse Local Group organise a series of talks each year for members and friends.

On 23rd May 2019 we were very pleased to host Bob Brewer, an archaeologist, who spoke of the Archaeology of the Ridgeway and the evidence for Roman roads in the area and how the Ridgeway related to them.

The programme for Autumn/Winter 2019 is shown below.

  • 19th September is Nicola Cormick on: “The Story of Ashbury: A Ridgeway Village Through 100 Years of History”
  • 24th October –  Andy Foley National Trust Area Ranger:  “The Work of the Trust on the Ridgeway”
  • 21 November – to be decided

We would welcome ideas from members for other events.

All are welcome to attend the meetings and guests are welcome.  A small charge is made to cover costs.  £3 for members and £5 for non-members.

All talks are held on a Thursday, in the Old Town Hall Faringdon and start at 7.30pm unless otherwise noted.
