In the July newsletter we are seeking to recruit a new trustee to join the board and contribute to delivery of the objectives of the Friends of the Ridgeway. We are also calling on artists to create new artworks for next year’s Swire Ridgeway Arts Prize, the theme of which is Shapes and Shadows of the Ridgeway. We present this year’s Highly Commended works in the written, sculpture and photography categories. An All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) has recently been seeking evidence and suggestions for improving Outdoor Recreation and Access to Nature. We present our response, which is focussed on the detrimental effects of non-essential (recreational) motor vehicles on the Ridgeway and other byways. Wendy Tobitt brings us up to date with progress on the Historic Ridgeway project; there really is a lot happening. Enjoy.
